El partit no-en-sé-res
En una de les newsletters del Chrnoicle of Higuer Educations, Brinstorm-Lives of the Mind, s’hi esmenta un estudi sobre l’actitud dels joves americans envers les fonts de notícies, especialment la premsa escrita dirària. En particular estudia els joves que han conviscut amb la Internet i que ara són a la vintena, no pas la generació Facebook.
La darrera frase de l’article és rellevant:
The author of the report, Thomas Patterson, doesn’t blame the Internet for the decline in news consumption by young Americans. Instead, he cites the breakdown of group activities in the home, such as the sharing of newspapers and group viewing of the network news. But his final sentence does, in fact, imply a large role for technology in the decline: “Today, media use is a largely a solitary affair,” he says, “contributing to the tendency of media use to reinforce interests rather than to create new ones.” The screen of a cell phone isn’t easily shared by mom and dad and the kids.
Ni la pantalla d’un telèfon mòbil ni la pantlla d’un portàtil, ni de fet cap pantalla de cap ordinador són compartibles fàcilment entre fills i pares. De fet, difícilment són compartibles entre dues persones. Treballar amb un ordinador és un acte personal. D’aquí s’entèn que les eines socials tinguin tan d’èxit.
