Confessions sobre Moodle
Repassant els bons articles del Chronicle of Higher Education d’aquests darrers dies, m’he trobat una reflexió sobre el programari de treball en grup, en particular el Moodle. En un article titulat Confessions of a Moodle Convert, l’autor parla de si els nous mètodes basats en les TIC poden afectar la relació professor-estudiant. Bé, això ho diuen els americans, quan aquí s’està fent molt d’èmfasi en situar l’estudiant en el centre del procès d’aprenentatge, i en no parlar d’ensenyar, sinó d’aprendre.
Em sembla bona la reflexió final, relacionada amb l’esforç personal i amb l’aprenentatge en solitari:
I wonder whether in the rush to celebrate the virtues of openness and the fun of group learning, we’re forgetting the virtues inherent in learning in private.
Un comentari també és enriquidor:
education is about what students can learn and communicate, rather than what they can take down, memorize, and feed back.

For faculty who are interested in the LMS as an online teaching platform, but are not interested in being part of the open source software development community, it is not clear what advantage Moodle provides over other LMS products like Angel, Desire2Learn, Sakai, Blackboard, Saba, SumTotal, etc.
En una entrada relacionada al Times Higuer Education, hi ha un titular que diu The Magic of Face-to-Face Teaching (la màgia d’ensenyar cara-a-cara). L’autora hi fa una reflexió emocional:
Digitisation, at its most effective and efficient, should take the best of analogue materials, genres and forms and stabilise and preserve them for diverse audiences. Lectures are special spaces – they are fast, intense, efficient and motivational. Podcasts can never capture the analogue immediacy, energy and affectivity of the experience. Lectures are analogue.
The energy and spark of connection between lecturers and students in a particular place and moment cannot be repeated. But to hear the greatest minds of our time speak to the future even after their death may be the sonic equivalent of a low-resolution scan, but the pixels offer potential.
