Mala (o inadequada) ciència: Premis IG
Com cada any, la revista Improbable reserach ha atorgat el 2/10 els IG Nobel Prixes, per distingir les publicacions que toquen temes més absurds o fins i tot en toquen de seioros i malament.
Personalment em quedo amb el premi en l’apartat de nutrició:
NUTRITION PRIZE. Massimiliano Zampini of the University of Trento, Italy and Charles Spence of Oxford University, UK, for electronically modifying the sound of a potato chip to make the person chewing the chip believe it to be crisper and fresher than it really is.

Modificant electrònicament el so de les patates fregides de bossa (xips), una persona pot pensar que són més cruixent del que són en realitat.
Pensat-ho bé, per què han donat aquest premi a aquest article? No ens estan convencent tot el dia els publicistes i comuncadors que el que importa no és com són lse coses, sinó com sembla que són? Hauré de pensar-hi i reflexionar-hi.
No està pas malament l’antiNoble de Quimica, en què dos articles mostren exactament el contrari: un que la Coca-Cola és una bona espermecida, i l’altre que no n’és!
CHEMISTRY PRIZE. Sharee A. Umpierre of the University of Puerto Rico, Joseph A. Hill of The Fertility Centers of New England (USA), Deborah J. Anderson of Boston University School of Medicine and Harvard Medical School (USA), for discovering that Coca-Cola is an effective spermicide, and to Chuang-Ye Hong of Taipei Medical University (Taiwan), C.C. Shieh, P. Wu, and B.N. Chiang (all of Taiwan) for discovering that it is not.
