Demà sembla que entrarem en la tercera fase del desconfinament per la #covid19. La veritat és que les diferències entre fases ja sóc poc importants. A la fase 0, vam poder fer esport. A la 1, circular. A la 2, anar a la platja. A la 3, el mateix, però una mica més. Sembla que anem bé. Les coses es van recuperant, encara que no acaba de rutllar com dur a terme a l’activitat lectiva presencial, a tots els nivells, i l’actividad recreativa-cultural presencial massiva (espectacles esportius, concerts, etc.) A poc a poc el percentatge de notícies no relacionades amb la #covida19 va augmentant. Així i tot, costa destriar-les.
Després de 3 mesos, dimecres vaig poder fer una trobada presencial amb la @silviasimonr per parlar dels temes d’actualitat i pendents que tenim, que són molts. Naturalment hem estat en contacte permanent per la xarxa, però poder parlar una estona amb contacte visual i amb comunicació no verbal va molt bé.
Dimecres també vaig poder intervenir al congrés en línia Recerkids (veure entrada al blog). Va ser divertit, amb un format atractiu.
Dijous vam tenir una sessió de la Comissió de Govern de Ciències, on l’apartat més important era la presentació de planificació de la docència per al proper curs, que ha de preveure activitat presencial i en línia, síncrona i asíncrona, i també donar suport a les persones que durant alguns dies no puguin seguir les activitats presencials. Tinc previst, entre d’altres, fer tres activitats lectives, el primer semestre: l’assignatura de cinètica química de biotech (3r curs), classe de comunicació oral a 1r (grups mitjans) i comunicació escrita (grups mitjans) també a 1r curs. Estic esperant les instruccions de les coordinacions d’estudi i d’assigantures, però em fa l’efecte que no hi haurà cap dificultat especial.
Divendres no vaig poder ser al #cafèdigital16 organitzat per la @mferres. Llàstima, perquè diuen que va ser molt interessant. No passa res, encara en queden un o dos més, aquest mes de juny
Aquesta setmana s’han resolt els projecte de recerca del ministeri. Ha anat molt bé, al nostre entorn. Estem contents. Tenim gent molt bona, i molt bona gent. Felicitats a tots els equips d’aquests projectes (són de 3 anys de durada).

He vist al Wall Street Journal que The Results Are in for Remote Learning: It Didn’t Work – segons Slashdot, als USA no ha pas anat gaire bé… veig que els problems són semblants arreu del món:
The problems began piling up almost immediately… Soon many districts weren’t requiring students to do any work at all, increasing the risk that millions of students would have big gaps in their learning… Preliminary research suggests students nationwide will return to school in the fall with roughly 70% of learning gains in reading relative to a typical school year, and less than 50% in math, according to projections by NWEA, an Oregon-based nonprofit that provides research to help educators tailor instruction. It expects a greater learning loss for minority and low-income children who have less access to technology, and for families more affected by the economic downturn…. About 9.7 million students aren’t connected to the internet, according to an estimate by the EducationSuperHighway, a nonprofit focused on connectivity in public schools. [The national average for unconnected students is 20%] “As a nation, we were not prepared to take learning online,” said founder and CEO Evan Marwell…
School districts didn’t realize the number of students without access to devices and the internet until they surveyed parents. Districts that could afford to do so hurried to buy the technology needed to get students online. Some, such as those in Austin and Belleville, Illinois, put Wi-Fi wired buses in parking lots for students to connect from their parents’ cars. Many districts prepared printed packets of work for students without online access, which were handed out in food drive-through lines at schools….
Remote learning has turned the simple task of taking attendance into a challenge. Many count students as present if they log in to do work in programs like Google Classroom, an online classroom manager. Some give attendance credit for weekly progress on completed work, while others allow parents to call in to vouch for their children. Some districts aren’t bothering with attendance at all. Those that have been able to track attendance say it has been below regular levels. Some students have simply gone missing. Early into the shutdown, the Los Angeles Unified School District estimated that on any given day in a week span, 32% of high-school students didn’t log in to learn.

Although some fear supercomputers will take over the world, for the time being, at least, they are humanity’s servants, which means that they do what we tell them to. Different scientists have different ideas about how to calculate which drugs work best—some prefer artificial intelligence, for example—so there’s quite a lot of arguing going on.
Hopefully, scientists armed with the most powerful computers in the world will, sooner rather than later, find the drugs needed to tackle COVID-19. If they do, then their answers will be of more immediate benefit, if less philosophically tantalizing, than the answer to the ultimate question provided by Deep Thought, which was, maddeningly, simply 42.

I ara què?
Dijous a la tarda tinc previst dur a terme una experiència ben interessant: fer una festa de cloenda d’un grup de 6è curs de primària, amb matemàgia i ciència. Serà el primer cop que ho faré en línia, i la veritat és que he estat treballant per seleccionar els jocs que poden anar millor en aquest cas. L’experiència de màgia en línia no és gaire espectacular, pel que he vist aquestes setmanes de confinament, segurament perquè molta gent que es dedica a la màgia professional treballa moltíssim el lenguatge no verbal i la comunicació interpersonal. A veure com m’anirà!
